I realised maths it took, when I was little I wanted to perform weather prediction. I attempted to study computer graphics but back in the days the universities for it had been few and far between, so I just went for a computer science degree. I was mucking about in Max. I did notice there were quite few people from the various studies I took but that the gender balance hasn't phased me. I don't think folks treat me any different as a woman (I've had it better occasionally. I once entered a programming competition where I was the only girl and the organisers as well as other competitors were actually kind).

My advice is figure out what you would like to do, then apply for jobs within that region. I began as a data engineer in Jagex, and have recently transferred into info science, and I'm so grateful for the opportunity. But I knew I wanted to work within games, so when I started I applied for jobs round dat science and information analysis. Additionally, it is worth looking at job descriptions before you start applying and build a portfolio what you want to specialise in. For information science, research Tableau (you can find a free student license ), python and SQL. Kaggle is a superb spot to acquire data sources to play around with and help you.

Keep learning! Go out of your way to gain all different kinds of experiences, because you never know how it may end up when applying to some matches function serving you. As soon as you're successful in acquiring a gaming function, keep studying and growing! It will also help you in good stead if you're proactive and effective on your passion for matches and also have something to talk about (whether that is leading to a fansite, writing for a gaming review website, making your own games/ sites etc).
